Earlier this year, we added a terrific new member to the Erwin Law Team – Stephen T. Blackburn. And while you can find his ‘official’ bio at erwinlawfirm.com, we thought his answers to the following questions might help you to get to know the ‘real’ him …
Do you have any nicknames?
So, so many, and I’ll answer to any -- or all! -- of them. But most people call me “Steve.”
What's the best thing you've crossed off your bucket list?
Skydiving. I was scared to try it because I thought I’d like it too much (and it’s a very pricey hobby … !) Turns out, it was a lot of waiting around for too fleeting of a fun time. Scuba diving has a similar problem, but the waiting-to-fun ratio is much better, so I find it more enjoyable.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in New Jersey but moved to Miami when I was young. Then we moved to West Palm Beach when I was between seventh and eighth grade. So I guess, “South Florida.” Final answer.
If you went to both the University of Florida and the University of Michigan, who did you root for in this year’s March Madness tournament?
Both. That’s like picking a favorite child and I definitely wouldn’t want to jinx either of them. So, next question, please.
Coffee or Tea? Coke or Pepsi?
Actually, RC cola when I can find it. But not because I like the taste better. I just usually root for the underdog. Also, maybe ignore my answer to the last question.
What do you like best about being a lawyer?
Being fortunate enough to have the training and experience to help people through trying and difficult times is a responsibility I take seriously. My answer would be simply, “helping people.”
Do you have any pets?
One husky malamute mixed breed of an eater.
What would you like to be remembered for?
Being the best dog butler that ever buttled for his dogs.
